O.M.GOSH

SO HAPPY TO BE FINALLY FREE OF THE 18 HOUR MIGRAINE I HAD. IN THE MIDST OF THAT I HAVE A SICK 7 YEAR OLD TO TEND TO AS WELL. I BELIEVE HE HAS THE FLU OR SOMETHING AND I'M PRAYING THE OTHER 4 CHILDREN DON'T GET IT.  TENDING TO MY SON AND DEALING WITH MY OWN VOMITING SPELLS AND POUNDING HEAD WAS ENOUGH. GOD GIVE ME THE STRENGTH TO GET THROUGH ANOTHER NIGHT. O AND PLEASE SEND SOME GOOD SLEEP MY WAY, I DIDN'T GET MUCH OF THAT AT ALL LAST NIGHT.

THE MIGRAINE STOPPED BY

Yesterday, The Migraine stopped by and didn't leave until this morning. When it came, it brought along a few friends, exhaustion and fierce vomiting spells. These are visitors from hell!!! When they come, you are counting down the minutes until they leave. The throbbing pain, the sensitivity to light, sound, or the even the slightest touch upon your head. Total darkness, quietness, and pain medicine are the only things you seek. I lay a heating pad beneath the back of my neck and ice upon my right temple. Searching and yearning for relief, like a lost child for his/or her parents. The pain is deep and when it comes upon you, it drowns you like a non-swimmer in 12ft of water. It's a terrible feeling and it can last for less than 3 hours or as long as 3 days. Luckily, mine only lasted 24 hours but it was the longest 24 hours. A vicious cycle of vomiting to the point of dry heaves, then brushing your teeth, and literally crawling back to bed. Trying to guzzle down as much water as you can within the next 20 minutes, just to vomit it all back up again. The pressure from the vomiting is so strong, it forces it out through your nose and mouth at the same time. It also puts pressure on the bladder and forces urine to begin to come out. So you have to try and hold back the urine while you're being drained of every drop of liquid and food your stomach is holding. The room is spinning and your body temperature rises until your soaked with sweat. Once your stomach is empty and your bladder as well, you are left shaking and weak on the bathroom floor. Your temperature drops again, and you are now cold with sweat, shaking, and weak. Eventually, you find the strength to get yourself up, into the shower, and clean again. Your head is still throbbing and you go back to total darkness and quiet in bed. As you lay there, you pray and beg God for mercy. You pray to be able to fall asleep and be pain free when you awake. The Migraine stopped by yesterday, but today, I sent it on it's way.

THE SIMPLE THINGS

When the house is quiet at the end of a long day, I love that sound of silence. It's priceless and very necessary. Your mind needs to be quieted down and in a peaceful place for a good nights rest. I know at times we can take something that simple for granted. As I lay comfortably against my pillow, I gently close my eyes, take a deep breath, and smile. God, I thank you for the peace and quiet. I thank you, for the simple things.

Life's a Snowstorm

I woke up this morning, rolled over and saw my husband sleeping peacefully beside me. I glanced over at the clock and it was quarter to eleven. I sat up and gently got out of bed for my morning tinkle. I then washed my hands, face, and brushed my teeth before proceeding out to the living room. I checked on my children and thought about what time I would start to prepare dinner. My daughter awoke, and joined me in the living room. I turned on the television and then began to do her hair. I just so happened to glance out of the picture window behind us and saw snow coming down. I was surprised but didn't think it would stick or the snow fall would last. After a while I called my mom to see if she found any big sales at the malls, she in turn told me the snowstorm has started and if I needed anything I should go get it now. I quickly got up, got my clothes on, grabbed a few children and headed out to the store. The parking lot was full and inside the aisles were as well. The loud speaker was buzzing with announcements about sales and specials. The shoppers were all over the place, trying to avoid a traffic jam up and down the aisles. There were some jolly people there and some were kind of stone faced. I wondered why they seemed so agitated. I know life is kind of hard for just about everyone financially and most are on a budget, but why so glum? You are alive, you have your wits about you, you have mobility in your arms and legs. You can see, hear, talk, walk, shop, etc.. so why the attitude? You smile at them and they give you a look as if to say, go jump off the bridge. Although they may have a nasty disposition you can still overcome it with a smile or a kind word. Don't let their bad attitude kill your good one. It's amazing how we can take the little things for granted and forget to be grateful. No matter how bad things may seem to be right now, remember, they could always be worse.  We may complain in the midst of paying bills, but it's still a blessing to be able to pay a bill. There are so many people out in this world who are losing their homes, vehicles, jobs, loved ones, and even their minds! They can't even afford to pay the bill that you are complaining about paying. We must learn to look at our lives the way we look out at a snowstorm through our picture windows. The storm may be raging out of control in our lives at the moment, but for every beginning to a storm there is an ending. As my best friend said to me tonite..."this to shall pass!"
